Welcome to the Bartels Middle School Art Department blog. The purpose of these postings is to keep families up to date of what is happening in the art room and to showcase my students' creativity.

This is my third year teaching art at BMS and there is no place I would rather be. We have an incredible staff and some awesome students. Room 598 is a great place to be - differences are respected, kindness matters, silliness is encouraged, and gumballs are given.
At BMS students are able to take art all three years. For 6th and 7th grades, art is a quarter long requirement. 8th grade students have the choice to take art for a full semester. All grades focus on the Elements of Art while creating 2 and 3 dimensional works. 8th graders are challenged to use more complicated materials such as wood burners, xacto knives, and glass nippers.
